The podcast will share both people‘s favourite stories, ones that made an impact in their lives, together with new, unique short stories.

An introduction to the Telling Stories community and a 'heads up' to what we have planned. Telling Stories is a home for good storytelling and a place for people who love good stories. Coming up we'll have friends joining us to talk about the stories that have impacted them and their lives and got them to think differently. We'll be sharing stories of amazing lives, of travels of career changes. And we'll thinking about creativity and hopefully inspiring you to be creative.

Cameron and Alex is inspired by the WW2 experiences of two brothers, Scottish hill farmers, in 1942, farming difficult land near Biggar. Alex is called up to fight in Burma with the Seaforth Highlanders. Cameron is in a reserved occupation and stays to manage the farm. Life changes in the town with the arrival of the Land Girls and stationing of the Polish Army. The story explores their experiences, relationship and humanity.

The short story Sam and Moses is set in industrial Middlesbrough in August 1889. Moses Carpenter arrives with Sequah's Medicine Show touring Great Britain and Ireland. Sam is a young boy who loves the spectacle of the show and loves Moses who is like no one else he has ever met. Sequah was an advertising genius but didn't advertise was that he'd been born William Henry Hartley. Moses was Ska-Yun-Ya-Te, a Mohawk far from home who had found a sense of belonging.
